Latest trends and advances

The theme of the 2018 ACSC Conference is 'From Security to Resilience', with speakers focussing on the latest threats, mitigations and advances in cyber security.

The program and activities have been designed around specific topics:

  • cybercrime
  • deterrence, attribution and foreign interference
  • defending the enterprise
  • protecting control systems and critical government services
  • technological disrupters
  • education, skills and the cyber workforce.

Women in cyber

The 2018 ACSC Conference has a specific vision to promote, inspire, and support women to recognise and embrace the opportunity of a career in cyber security. We strive to have an equal number of women and male speakers at the event. Some of the inspiring female speakers include:

  • Şebnem Kürklü — the Cyber Security Manager of Aurizon, the largest rail freight operator in Australia
  • Dr Maria Milosavljevic — the newly appointed Chief Information Security Officer for NSW
  • Erika Noerenberg — a senior malware analyst and reverse engineer at LogRhythm Labs in the US.

Working collaboratively with government, industry, and academia, the ACSC is working to ensure the cyber security workforce is equipped with the skills and diversity of thought to address security challenges into the future.
